  • Wellington County is responsible for garbage and recycling pick up  in the town of Erin. The county also operates the transfer stations where residents can bring their garbage and recycling.
  • Contact the County of Wellington Solid Waste Services, Phone: 519-837-2601 or Toll free 1-866-899-0248
  • Pickup for urban garbage and recycling is every Thursday unless that day is a holiday falls on that day. If so a day is assigned to replace the missed day and is advertised
  • Pickup of rural garbage and recycling is every other week on Thursdays, again unless a holiday falls on that day. Private contractors can also be hired to handle rural garbage.
  • Large items can be transported to any County waste facility – the nearest to Erin is the Belwood Transfer Station at8585 Wellington Road 19, Township of Centre Wellington (see map).
  • The town requests that garbage and recycling be at the curb outside your Erin
    home or business by 7:00 a.m on pickup day. It is required to be placed in the yellow County of Wellington garbage bags. These waste bags can be purchased at Erin areas grocery stores for $17.50 (2016 pricing) for 10 large bags. For 10 small bags, the price is $10.
